BLA claimed the responsibility of Karachi attack, seven killed including four terrorists

Islamabad: The four militants of Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) wearing the uniform of police attacked Pakistan stock exchange building on Monday morning.

According to police the terrorists came from the parking side; they threw a grenade at the main entrance of the Pakistan stock exchange (PSE) and entered the compounded. They started indiscriminate firing; Police and Rangers’ officials arrived at the scene soon after the attack and eliminated all four attackers in a bloody encounter.

One Sub Inspector of Karachi police Muhamamd Shahid and two security guards of Pakistan stock exchange (PSE) killed in the attack, seven people, including three police officials, have been injured, according to Karachi police statement. A few injured are serious, casualties may exceed.

Security forces recovered hand grenades, pistols and ammunition from the bags the terrorists were carrying.

Security personnel, including police and Rangers, intercepted the attackers and killed all four of them, Sindh Rangers said. A clearance operation was conducted later.

Director General Sindh Rangers, Omer Ahmed Bukhari, during a press conference in the afternoon, said that the terrorists were eliminated within eight minutes.

Bukhari added that the possibility of the involvement of foreign agencies, especially India’s Research and Analysis Wing, cannot be ruled out, saying that such attacks are not “stand-alone incidents” and cannot take place without the aid of “outside intelligence agencies”.

Earlier soon after the attack the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) through their official twitter account has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

According to BLA the Majeed Brigade, an elite unit of the organization carried out the suicide attack. BLA has issued the names and picture of their terrorists who carried out the attack through their twitter account as Tasleem Baloch alias Muslim, Shehzad Baloch alias Cobra, Salman Hammal alias Notak, Siraj Jungur alias Yaagi.

Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Twitter account @HakkalMedia was suspended soon after the attack by Twitter over violation of the Twitter Rules.

It is reminded that Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) also had claimed a similar attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi in Clifton on 23 November 2018. In that attack two policemen, two Pakistani civilians and the three attackers of BLA were killed. No Chinese nationals were hurt in the attack.
