Lahore: Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) a new shia party organized The Quran-o-Sunnat Conference on Sunday at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore. The head of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen has announced that the MWM would fully participate in the next general elections and would defeat the pro-American elements in each corner of the country.
He also demanded an end to the target killing of Shias across the country and urged the government to protect both their lives and property.
MWM Secretary General Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaafri during his speech said Shias would besiege GHQ, Prime Minister house, chief minister house and officers of security personnel in case safety of life and properties of Shias is not secured in every part of the country. He advised the participants to prepare themselves for this purpose.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaafri also warned all political parties not to make activists of banned organizations as their candidates in upcoming elections otherwise Shias would boycott these parties and would not vote for them.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari told the gathering that recent terrorist attack on the Pakistani pilgrims in Quetta was an attempt by the enemy but these elements will never succeed to divide Muslims.
A central leader of MWM, Allama Mohammad Amin Shahidi pointed out that Shia presence in the political, economic and social fields will enable them to defend Pakistan in a more effective way. He said the decision will give much important role to Shias in Pakistan to project their voice and to foil the efforts of those who want to divide the Muslims and promote sectarianism.
He said America and Israel are making plots against this country, but the Shia community would prove to be a big hurdle in the way of all such attempts.
The conference was the second largest gathering of Shias at this historic ground after that of 1987, chaired by the slain leader Allama Arif Hussain Al Hussaini, who was shot dead near Peshawar the following year.
Nasir Jafri said the MWM would constitute different committees and councils for coordinating with other schools of thought and for promoting Azadari in the country. The conference was also addressed by MWM deputy secretary general Allama Amin Shaheedi, spokesman Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi, ISO president Athar Imran, Shafqat Shirazi, Sakina Mehdvi, Haider Ali Moosvi, Gulfam Hashmi, Mukhtar Imami and others.
It is notable that the main stream shia leader and head of shia ulema council Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi did not take part in the conference.
