Kabul: Afghan Taliban killed eight civilians after abducting them in northern Balkh province, the local officials said.

Sources in Balkh Police Headquarters confirmed that the Taliban militants killed the civilians in Shogarah district of Balkhh province.

The sources further added that the Taliban militants initially abducted the civilians from Nahr-e Sukh Village and later shot dead them.

Meanwhile, the security sources said a woman and a child were also among those killed.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the incident so far.

This comes as the security situation has deteriorated in some remote districts of Balkh province during the recent years.

The Taliban militants are active in those districts and often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities.
