Al-Umar Chief calls for shutdown on January 26

Srinagar: Al-Umar Mujahideen chief Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar has appealed people of Jammu and Kashmir to observe complete shutdown on January 26 and observe it as ‘black day’. According to the statement issued to press here, he said, India has occupied Jammu and Kashmiris  and has snatched their political rights from them. The country has not right to celebrate January 26 as Republic day.

Zargar added that the lasting solution of Kashmir issue was possible only under the UN resolutions. He said the UN resolutions declare Kashmir as a disputed territory and justify Kashmiris freedom struggle. “Till India won’t follow and implement the UN resolutions all the talks are futile. We will continue our fight for freedom till Indian forces are on Kashmir soil. Modi should forget that talks with Pakistan will bore any fruits,” Zargar said.
Al-Umar chief said that “India has snatched freedom from Kashmiris, so the people should observe complete shutdown on Jan 26 and celebrate the day as black day.” He asked people to shut all business establishments on the day.

Zargar also appealed people particularly the students of schools and colleges not to participate in any of the function organised with regard to India’s R-Day celebration. “It doesn’t benefit us to partake or share our presence with those whose hands are smeared with the blood of our people.”
He said that only Ambulances will be allowed to ply on Jan 26.

Zargar appealed the parents not to send their children to attend  the functions on the day.
