Islamabad: The ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Pakistan, Mr. Lakhal Benkelai, along with embassy staff visited Edhi home, Islamabad. In charge of Edhi Homes, Shakeel Ahmed welcomed the distinguish guests and briefed them about the various relief projects and services providing Edhi center to deserving people without any discrimination. Algerian Envoy Mr. Lakhal Benkelai in a ceremony handed over the laptops, water cooler, UPS and other branded items to the Edhi Homes.
Addressing on the occasion Algerian Ambassador Lakhal Benkelai praised the historic role of Edhi Foundation in humanitarian and relief sectors, he said the late Abdul Sattar Edhi was a great leader who served the needy people of Pakistan without any discrimination of color, cast and religion.
Algerian Envoy said that this gesture from the Embassy of Algeria to the edhi Foundation is an expression of the solidarity of the Algerian people to the people of Pakistan and its stand to express sympathy and solidarity between the peoples of two brotherly countries. He said it is a honor for Edhi foundation as its founder late Abdul Sattar Edhi spent whole of his life in the service of humanity, poor and the needy.
Mr. Lakhal Benkelai assured the Edhi foundation representatives that our embassy will continue further cooperation in charitable and humanitarian activities in future. The Shakeel Ahmed, In charge of Edhi center Islamabad thanked the assistance provided by the Algerian Ambassador to Edhi center. He said we appreciate the efforts of embassy and hope that cooperation will continue in the future.
