Altaf Bhat briefed Lord Mayor of Birmingham about current situation of Kashmir

Birmingham: A high level delegation of Kashmiri leaders called on Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councilor Muhammad Azeem at Lord Mayor Office Council House Victoria Square here on Wednesday. The Kashmiri delegation was headed by senior leader of All parties hurriyat conference (APHC) Altaf Ahmad Bhat, while Raja Fahim Kayani, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir TeK United Kingdom (UK) editor Kashmir Post International Mohideen Dar, Former Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councilor Shafique Shah, Councillor Mohammed Idrees and Journalist Irfan Tahir were part of the delegation.

Altaf Ahmad Bhat on the occasion briefed Lord Mayor of Brimingham on the current situation of Occupied Kashmir. He told the Lord Mayor that thePeople of Kasfhmir have been caged since August 05 by the Indian government. During these 86 days Kashmiris suffered worth US&2Billion economical loss.

Besides the economic loss there is also shortage of food, medicine and milk in the entire region. He further said that Indian prime Minster Modi wants to usurp the natural resources of Kashmir and for that he abrogated the Article 370 and 35A which has never remained the priority of Kashmiri people who have been sacrificing their lives for plebiscite since last seven decades.

On the occasion Lord Mayor of Birmingham Azeem said that he will continue to raise the voice for the people of IOJ&K who are fighting for their political rights as per the UN resolutions saying Kashmiris will achieve their destination very soon. At the end of the meeting the Mayor presented shields to Altaf Ahmad Bhat ,  Raja Fahim Kayani and Mohideen Dar for their valuable contribution for the protection of Kashmiris human rights across the globe.

On the occasion President TeK UK Raja Fahim Kayani said that Altaf Ahmad Bhat and his entire family has a great contribution in the ongoing liberation movement of Kashmir saying He has lost 20 family members and relatives in the Kashmir conflict since 1990 including his elder brother Haji Abdul Ghani Bhat but his family like other kashmiri families never compromised on the ongoing Kashmir liberation movement of Jammu and Kashmir.

Raja Fahim Kayani also thanked Mayor Azeem for supporting the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people.  On the occasion the notables who were also present were Former Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councilor Shafique Shah, Councillor Mohammed Idrees and Journalist Irfan Tahir.

Moreover Altaf Ahmad Bhat invited Mayor Muhammad Azeem to visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and meet the refugees of Kashmir residing in different refugees camps In Azad Kashmir. Mayor Muhammd Azeem  accepted the invitation and promised to visit the region very soon.
