Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has reiterated that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiri brethren for their right to self determination in India-held Kashmir, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said Saturday.
Army Chief made these remarks while visiting Pakistan Army’s forward positions along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Muzaffarabad Sector.
While lauding the Kashmiri people on both sides of the Loc for their determination against Indian brutalities, appreciated the state of operational readiness, exemplary high morale, and motivation for the fulfillment of assigned missions, the statement added.
Addressing the troops he said,” We are aware of the defence and security challenges being faced by the country and we are capable of defeating all threats, irrespective of the ‘front’.”
Earlier on Thursday, Gen Baja’s counterpart in India, Gen Bipin Rawat, had claimed that the “Indian Army is fully ready for a two-and-a-half-front war”.
The Army Chief was briefed in detail by the local commander regarding the “operational situation, Indian cease fire violations and response by Pakistani troops,” read the statement.
During the visit Army chief interacted with the troops, who were reported to have pledged that “no Indian misadventure shall go without a befitting response”.
The Army chief was also briefed on the ongoing communication infrastructure development in the area by Frontier Works Organisation.
