Bhat urges UK Government to find permanent solution of Kashmir dispute

Birmingham: Human Rights Violation Conference’ was held in Coventry Muslim Resource Centre  under the aegis of Tehreek-e-Kashmir TeK United Kingdom (UK) in which the speakers unanimously appealed the world community to come forward and end the human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The conference was presided over by President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) Sardar Masood Khan and addressed by president Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Altaf Ahmad Bhat , President TeK UK Fahim Kayani and President TeK Europe Muhammad Ghalib. The Conference was hosted by Asghar Ali, Barister Bashir Masroor, Mubarak Kiani and other local representatives.

Altaf Ahmad Bhat, president Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) said the government of United Kingdom should help for a permanent solution of Jammu and Kashmir issue as the conflict had erupted when the British government was in power in the subcontinent. Bhat said that such conferences and seminars in UK have the great impact on the ongoing liberation struggle and these events must be continued on regular basis aimed to get world attention against Indian repression and state terrorism in Kashmir.

Bhat added and said that all main stream leadership of Kashmir from Syed Ali Geelani to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Zaffar Akbar Bhat to Shahbir Shah and Nayeem Khan have been incarcerated since long which is the worst kind of human rights violation.

The Azad Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan while expressing gratitude to the Pakistani and Kashmir community for holding successful conferences in the UK parliament and ensuring participation of a large number of MPs belonging to different political parties in these conferences, the AJK president said that it was high time that the Kashmiri community persuade the UK Government to take practical steps for the resolution of Kashmir conflict. Referring to the report prepared and released by All Parties Parliamentary Kashmir Group of the UK Parliament in 2018, Sardar Masood Khan said that after publication of this report, the situation in occupied Kashmir has further aggravated. Therefore, it has become necessary that the UK parliament once again takes the notice of fast deteriorating situation in the Indian held territory.

President TeK UK Raja Fahim Kayani said that British Kashmiris are concerned about the continuous lockdown and curfew of IOJ&K saying they appeal European Union, UK and other big powers of the world to send their teams and fact-finding missions to IOJ&K to access what is happening on ground. We her in UK is concerned about our relatives in Kashmir.

The TeK President Europe Muhammad Ghalib said that they want justices for Kashmiris who have lost more than five lakh people since 1947 till now. ” We Kashmiris living in UK appeal to our all honorable British Parliament MPs to raise their voice for the besieged Kashmiris who have been locked down by Indian Army since August 5, 2019 and now body knows what is happening in occupied Kashmir.
