Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Sun Weidong said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is long-term project and hopefully 10,000 locals will get employments via 17 projects of the CPEC and 10000MW electricity could be generated through first phase of project. He said “One road, One belt” CPEC project will bring peace and economic change in the region. Chinese envoy said Silk Road Spirit is aimed at peace, cooperation and mutual learning as well as mutual benefits and win-win outcome for both Pakistan and China. Chinese Envoy was addressing the launching ceremony of a website of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) here at Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary services(PIPS) on Wednesday. Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honordost, Gen(R) Abdul Quoom, diplomats of different countries, Parliamentarians and other dignitaries attended the inaugural ceremony.
Chinese Envoy said the work on first phase of CPEC projects was in full swings including the construction of Gawadar Port, Up-gradation of Karakorum Highway and Peshawar to Karachi highway. “Beijing has signed economic and financial agreements with 30 countries and already established the Silk Road Bank and Asia Infrastructure Bank,” Sun Weidong added. Chinese Ambassador also appreciated the efforts of Senator Mushahid Hussain and Paki-China Institute to promote China-Pakistan friendship.
Chairman parliamentary Committee on CPEC Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on the occasion briefed about the newly launched web news and said the website will be used to relay information to the general masses regarding the projects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and clear misconceptions about the CEPC in different segments of society. Mushahid Hussain said the whole country would reap the benefits of CPEC project and Pakistan is ready to face the challenges of completing the project. CPEC is a historic agreement between Pakistan and china and the whole nation is thankful for the Chinese trust on Pakistan, senator Mushahid Hussain added.
Minister for ports and shipping Mir Hasil Bazenjo said Baloch people has welcomed the project and not only Pakistan but the whole region will be benefited form CPEC project including Afghanistan and Iran. He said we did not compete between Chahbahar and Gawadar port and both will helpful for the masses of brother countries.
