Bareilly: The influential Dargah Aala Hazrat of India ruled a fatwa (edict) declaring LeT founder Hafiz Saeed as non Muslim on Thursday. According to Times of India Mufti Mohammed Salim Noori, spokesperson of Dargah Aala Hazrat an Islamic seminary of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh said in a Fatwa that Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed is not a Muslim rather he defamed Islam through his terrorist activities. It is forbidden to keep any form of ties with him, including greet, meet, have food with him and reading his namaz-e-janaza (prayer read during burial services) after his death.
Neither Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) spokesman Yahya Mujahid nor JuD social Media team which is very active on social media like Facebook and twitter reacted against the Dargah Aala Hazrat seminary Fatwa. The ruling came close on the heels of Saeed asking Pakistan Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif to send troops to Kashmir to “obey” the pending order of Pakistan founder MA Jinnah. The ‘fatwa’ was issued by Manzar-e-Islam Saudagaran, an institution associated with Dargah Ala Hazrat, in a reply to a question asked by Mohd Moinuddin of Jaipur. It said Saeed has no connection with Islam, quoted by Hindustan Times.
The Fatwa also alleged that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed mastermind of Mumbai attacks in 2008 is behind several terror attacks on Indian soil and as chief ideologue of “Islamic terror”, was “not a Muslim”. Through the fatwa, the seminary asked Muslims not to listen to his speeches. “Saeed preaches terrorism and uses terror in the name of Islam and brings bad name to Muslims across the world,” the fatwa added.
Mufti Mohammed Salim Noori, who is also the spokesperson of the seminary said, “The ideology of Saeed is different from Islam. He, in a way, promotes people who have written few lines against the Prophet Mohammed.
The fatwa said, “Saeed is a promoter of terrorism and brings bad name to Islam and Muslims across the world. It is a sin for common public to listen his speeches and community should not trust him. People should not consider him a Muslim and they should keep others away from Hafiz Saeed and his ideology.”
