Islamabad: Jamat Dawa chief and Lashkar Taiba founder Hafiz Mohammad Saeed led a gathering of thousands in offering funeral prayers for Ajmal Kasab without announcing his name after the juma congregation at its head quarter muridkey.
The event was attended by thousands of people from across the country on 22,23rd of November ended after Friday prayers at muidkey.
Although a local Urdu news paper “daily express” reported that Hafiz Saeed offered the funeral prayers of Ajmal Kasab in absentia but one of the commander of Lashkar Taiba Abu Ahmad who took part in the two day meeting told “The Fortress” that Hafiz Saeed offered the funeral prayers in absentia of those innocent Muslims who have been killed in Gaza and across the world including India.
Hafiz Saeed, mastermind of the 2008 assault on Mumbai, offered ‘ghayabana namaz-e-janaza’ (funeral prayers in absentia) for Kasab at the conclusion of a two-day training session of the Jamaat-ud-Dawah at its headquarters at Muridkey near Lahore, PTI reported.
The news of funeral prayers of Ajmal Kasab shocked many because soon after the execution of ajmal kasab the Lashkar Taiba refused to comment on the issue saying that
“We have decided not to issue any statement on the hanging of Kasab as we think it is not appropriate,” Habibullah Salfi, a deputy spokesman of Jamat Dawa quoted by PTI.
