Hekmatyar’s close aid Ustad Farid killed in Peshawar

Islamabad: Unknown gunmen motorcyclist on Tuesday killed Naqeeb Muhammad alias Ustad Farid a close aid of Afghan leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.

According to police reports the incident occurred after morning prayers today, when Naqeeb Mohammad was coming out of the mosque after the dawn prayer in Tajabad in Pishtakhara area in KPK.

Mohammad Naqeeb alias Ustad Fareed the Afghan leader and close aide of party chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hezb-e-Islami and served as his secretary. Farid was a member of the central council of the Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan. Ustad Farid is also believed to be the father in law of the son of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
Mohammad Naqeeb alias Ustad Fareed son of Gul Muhammad was living here almost for two decades with his son after giving up the active politics.

The incident had occurred at a time when Hekmatyar announced a peacedeal with the Afghan government after an exile of almost 20 years.

Police are investigating the incident, while police say the body was brought to the hospital for autopsy.
