Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that the government of India has orchestrated a dangerous plan to change the demography of occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir. after realizing the fact that Kashmir was slipping out of its hands, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to the statement, AJK premier made these remarks while speaking on the floor of the house here on Wednesday. The Prime Minister said AJK government would take steps regarding Kashmir’s current situation in consultation with the Government of Pakistan. “We strongly condemn the statement of US President Donald Trump praising Indian role in Afghanistan”, he said adding that Pakistan had sacrificed thousands of civilians and security personnel during years long war against terrorism.
Lauding former Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif’s role in highlighting Kashmir cause at international level, Raja Farooq Haider Khan said, “Mian Nawaz Sharif is a sincere leader of Kashmiris who raised the Kashmir Issue in the United Nations and the Security Council”. “We are Pakistani even before the Pakistan came into being, Pakistan is our final destination. In Occupied Kashmir martyrs are being buried in the Pakistani flag”, he said. The AJK prime minister said that Kashmiris wanted to be part of Pakistan and there was no second option. “Kashmiris can never think of anything but merger with Pakistan,” he added. “No one should doubt our intentions. We have been in the struggle to be part of Pakistan for the last 70 years”, he maintained.
He said Mian Nawaz Sharif extended full support to the Azad Kashmir government during his premiership and took keen interest in the development of the area saying that Sharif was serious about the amendments in the Interim Constitutional Act of 1974.
He said our country Pakistan has been confronted with many challenges since the last few years but the nation has boldly faced them through its unshakeable resolve.
He said government of Pakistan Muslim League-N had highlighted the Kashmir Issue on international fora very effectively. He said Pakistan government has also adopted sound policies to improve the economy which has created better business environment leading to increased opportunities for domestic and international investment.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of AJ&K Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir said that an Indian design to change demography of Kashmir is a violation of UN Resolutions and International Law. Addressing the joint press conference, both the leaders, urged international community to take strict notice of India’s nefarious designs. They also condemned the human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir. Barjees Tahir said the silence of global community on human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir was beyond understanding. He said Indian forces were involved in state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir. Farooq Haider said that India has been trying to sabotage the freedom movement in held Kashmir.
