International community to play role to normalize the situation in Kashmir: Kashmir Solidarity Conference

Islamabad: Speakers at Kashmir Solidarity Conference hosted by Mashaikh and Ulema Council Pakistan urged international community to take deceive measures to normalize the situation in Kashmir by ending the curfew, restoring the communication services. The participants urged the global community to take notice of Indian policies and attempts to change and alter the region’s demographics. They also stressed on the international community to take notice of the humanitarian crisis going on in the region.

In his inaugural Address Pir Sultan Fayaz ul Hassan chairman Mashaikh and Ulema Council Pakistan  said that Prime Minister Imran Khan must take nation into confidence before leaving for the much awaited tour to address the United Nations General Assembly.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the Kashmir issue was not a political matter; rather it was an issue of Pakistan’s survival. She said that in order to successfully pursue the Kashmir cause, there was a need to harmonize the political, military, national, media, diplomatic and communication strategies. Addressing the Kashmir Solidarity Conference organized here by the Mashaikh and Ulema Council Pakistan, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the verdict of Indian Supreme Court on the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has exposed lies of fascist Modi government. She said that the Indian SC verdict was victory of Pakistan.

Renowned journalist Hamid Mir also spoke at the conference and said that the Indian Supreme Court’s decision which directed the Modi government to restore normalcy in Indian Occupied Kashmir must not be viewed with any optimism. He said that India’s Supreme Court was not independent and that it was a planned decision of Modi and the Indian Establishment – hinting that Modi needed face saving.

Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) central leader Allama Qasim Qasmi  said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have already initiated war on Pakistan and that the decision as how to respond then lied with Pakistan. He further said that not only had the RSS and Modi waged war against the Muslims but also against the low caste Hindus. 

All Parties  Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Syed Yusaf Naseem, Maulana Fazal Rehman Khalil, Ijaz ul Haq, Abdul Rashid Turabi, Sardar Atiq Khan, Uzma Gul, Pir Amin ul Hasnat, Dr. sultan Ahmad Ali, Maulana Sajjad Shahid also spoke on the occasion.
