Islamabad: The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost met with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz here in Islamabad on Wednesday. On the occasion Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that Pakistan and Iran are brotherly relations and no one can harms the bilateral relation of both countries.
According to an Interior Ministry source Matter of Afghan Taliban Mullaha Mansoor Akhter who was reportedly coming back form Iran came under discussion in details. Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost clarified Tehran position regarding the Afghan leader’s stay in Iran. The Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan stressed the need to further improve border monitoring and exchange of information system between Pakistan and Iran.
Iranian government has finally responded to a letter written by the interior ministry seeking investigation into Indian intelligence agency RAW’s network in Iran, the letter was handed over to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan by Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Hunerdoost who called on him here on Wednesday, Dawn News reported. But the details of letter were not shared with the media.
Last month Interior Secretary Arif Ahmed Khan wrote a letter to the Iranian ambassador asking the Iranian government to investigate and share details of Indian spy agent Kulbushan Yadav’s activities in Iran, along with those of a colleague of his, identified as Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) Sub Inspector Rakesh alias Rizwan.
Both Iranian Envoy and Interior Minister discussed bilateral ties and matters related to security in details, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said Pakistan and Iran were tied in decades-long religious social cultural and political bonds and nothing could come in way of brotherly Pak-Iran relations.
In a Separate interaction the Iranian ambassador Mehdi Honardoost also met with Maryam Nawaz Daughter of Prime Minster Mian Nawaz Sharif and conveyed his country’s best wishes for early recovery and health of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The Iranian Envoy said that the contribution of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was important for the prosperity and development of the country. He said the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was imperative for Pakistan.
The relations between Pakistan and Iran are not at its best because of Indian spy agency RAW agent, Kulbhushan Yadav’s arrest form Baluchistan who was reportedly operating from the Iranian province Zahidan and last month Afghan Taliban Mullaha Mansoor Akhter’s killing in U.S. drone strike who was coming back form Iran after watching his family.
But despite this Islamabad hopes good ties with Tehran, a clear message was sent by Pakistan on Monday when Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan do not think that Chabahar Port is a threat to Pakistan’s Gwadar Port. Responding to a question In Senate, Sartaj Aziz said a memorandum of understanding (MoU) had already been inked for declaring Pakistan’s Gwadar and Iran’s Chabahar as sister ports.
