Islamabad: IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin said that we are trying our best to provide friendly atmosphere to capital people through sports programme as well as while extra curriculum activities for students. He expressed this while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Police Summer Camp School here in Islamabad on Monday. Tariq Masood Yasin said that through these camps students will be taught swimming, horse riding, martial arts, gymnastics, archery and obstacles’ crossing by trained instructors.
According to press release, IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin said that Islamabad police believe in continuity of practices to promote friendly police ecology and it started summer school in 2003 to boost the public friendly image of Islamabad police. It is the 14th summer school of ICT Police which would be participated by boys and girls from 4-14 years and separate classes as well as lectures have been arranged for them.
The children would be also given pick and drop facility covering all the major parts of city. On every Saturday, kids would be taken on some recreational trip at the various spots like shakarparian, Chattar Park, Murree or for watching movie.
The IGP said that students will be sensitized this time about basics of observing traffic laws and personal safety tips. They along with their families will also be taken on tour of Safe City Project. He said that 76 children got admissions in first summer school camp during 2003. This strength, he said, kept on increasing gradually every year and 316 children got admission last year.
He said admissions are open and Islamabad police is expecting around 350 students this year. “I’ll personally review all activities and `whatsapp’ group of parents will be created to keep them updated about day today activities and also for proper coordination with them” the IGP maintained.
The IGP said such Summer School Camp would remain continue in the coming years due to very positive response. He said that SSP Headquarters has endeavored a lot for the success of this program. He said that Islamabad Police is role model for other law enforcement agencies and those children participating in this summer camp would remember it for whole life. Parents of the Children thanked Islamabad police for arranging this healthy activity and hoped that liaison of police with public would further enhance in future to inculcate friendly police ecology in the city.
Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has arrested four outlaws involved in pick-pocketing and recovered cash and a car from them, a police spokesman said.
According to details a team of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was constituted by SP Investigation, Islamabad Muhammad Ilya under the supervision of DSP CIA BashirNoon. This team including Sub-Inspector Azam, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Suleman Shah, Azhar Hussain and six others. After hectic and day and night professional efforts, team succeeded to apprehend a gang of four pick pockets and recovered stolen mobiles and cash worth Rs. 31000, different CNICs and Mehran car. The nabbed pickpockets have been identified as Zahid Iqbal, Zahid Mehmood alias Zidi, Ramzan and Babar.
