Islamic World Should Play Its Role to Settle Palestine Issue: IPD Seminar

Islamabad: An Islamabad based Think Tank Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPD) organized a seminar having title “Palestine Conflict: Impediments for Just Resolution” in connection with the International Al-Quds Day here in Islamabad on Saturday. The last Friday of Ramadan is being observed as Al-Quds Day against the Israeli occupation of Al-Aqsa on the call of the late leader of the Islamic revolution in Iran, Ayatullah Khomeni.

Speakers were of the opinion that United Nations, OIC and Arab League should play its due role to settle the issue of Palestine. There was consensus among the participants that Muslim Ummah should unite and utilize all their resources to expose Israeli aggression against innocent Palestinians. Speakers said that people of Palestine have given historic scarifies for their noble cause and day is not far when their sacrifices will be rewarded with a free and independent state of Palestine.

Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Hoardoost was the chief Guest while scores of diplomats’ analysts and experts including former DG ISI Asad Durani, Mr. Shahbbodin Durai in charge Iranian cultural center Islamabad, Professor Dr. Nazir Hussain, Dr, Muhmmad Khan were among the participants.


In her inaugural address, President, Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IDP) Ms. Farhat Asif highlighted the importance of Palestine issue and paid rich tribute to late Imam Khommaini who declared the last Friday of Ramadan as Al-Qudas Day to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Addressing on the occasion chief guest of the seminar Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said the issue of Palestine is a symbol of unity among all Muslims and freedom-seeking nations should support Palestinians. The issue of Palestine is not the issue of one land or one Nation rather it is an issue of entire Muslim Ummah. He termed the long standing issue of Palestine as the issue of whole Islamic world.



Iranian Envoy Mehdi Hoardoost urged the international community including the United Nations (UN) to play its duty and help make a halt to Palestinians’ pain. Al-Qudas day reminds us about commitments made by international organizations to resolve the issue of Palestine according to the aspirations of people of Palestine.
