JKSM chairman Altaf Bhat condemns the unprovoked firing by Indian troops on LOC

Islamabad: Altaf Ahmad Bhat, chairman Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) strongly condemned the Indian shelling at civilian population on LoC LoC in Nakyal and Rakhchikri sectors and expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of two innocent lives. Offering condolences to the bereaved families, Altaf Ahmad Bhat said their sacrifices would not go in vain. “The way Indian Army is targeting the non-combatant Kashmiri population on both sides of the divide shames the cruelest mercenaries of modern history,” he said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in response to today’s as well as yesterday’s attacks, Indian troops engaged in “unprovoked firing” along the LoC in Nakyal and Rakhchikri sectors, targeting civilian population.

Unprovoked Indian firing in Nakyal and Rakhchikri sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) targeting civilian population, the ISPR in a statement said.

A 60-year-old woman Salamat Bibi and 13-year-old boy Zeeshan Ayub embraced Shahadat, while three citizens, including two women, were injured. The injured have been evacuated to nearby hospital for medical relief. The firing was being responded by Pakistani troops, added the statement. A woman and a teenage boy were killed after being hit by Indian shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday, residents and officials said.
