JRL protests against scrapping of Article 35A, Handwara civilian killing

Islamabad: In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership staged a demonstration in Srinagar, today, to protest against India’s attempts to scrap Article 35A of Indian Constitution and killing of a student in a fake encounter by Indian troops in Kupwara.

Scores of Hurriyat leaders and activists staged a protest march in Maisuma area of the city, today. The protesters were carrying banners with messages like “Any meddling with state subject law means attack on our identity. Kashmiris will not accept any such move”.

The leaders were demonstrating against attempts to abrogate Article 35A and killing of the student, Shahid Bashir, in a fake encounter by the troops in Handwara on Tuesday.
