Hafiz Saeed’s Son in Law Denies as LeT Claims Responsibility of CRPF Attack

IslamabadIndia blamed that Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed’s son-in-law Hafiz Khalid Waleed is suspected to have masterminded the June 25 attack on a CRPF convoy in Pampore , with two of his deputies Abu Hanzla Adnan and Sajid Jat, quoted by Times of India.  Intelligence agencies and Jammu & Kashmir police have found credible evidence to prove that  Khalid Waleed orchestrated the Saturday’s attack. TOI reported.

Denying the Indian Intelligence reports Hafiz Khalid Waleed Son in Law of JuD chief Hafiz Saeed said he has no contact with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Talking with “Urdu Daily Pakistan” in Lahore Hafiz Khalid Waleed said Kashmiri Mujahideen are fighting against Indian rule at their own and we just support them morally and politically. we will not leave our Kashmiri brethren alone in their freedom movement until they get the goal of Independence form India, Khalid Waleed added.

Who is Hafiz Khalid Waleed? 

Hafiz Khalid Waleed 42 a graduate of Punjab University is Son in Law of Lashkar-e-Taiba founder and jamat-ud-Dawa Hafiz Muhmmad Saeed. At present Khalid Waleed is chief Coordinator of Jamat-ud-Dawa political Affairs a deprtment headed by Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki brother in Law of Hafiz Saeed. Although he denied that he has no relations with LeT but his real brother Abu Hanzala Zahid was got killed in Mid 90’s fighting along with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants in Indian controlled district Badgam.

In August 2012 United States Department of the Treasury included his name into Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) Along with other eight LeT leaders and handlers. United States alleged Hafiz Khalid Walid that he has been a member of LET’s central advisory committee since 2003 and has held various leadership positions in the group since 2006. Khalid Waleed run LET’s political bureau since mid-2008, which was headed by Hafiz Abdur Rehman Makki, U.S. Department of the Treasury blamed.

United States also blamed that after 2008 Mumbai Terrorist Attack by Lashkat-e-Taiba, many senior leaders  including LeT chief Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi were in detention. then Hafiz Khalid Walid was looking after the matters of LeT in Punjab Province, Pakistan.

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Claims Responsibility of CRPF Attack

Eight soldiers of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed on a highway near Pampore and 20 others injured after a Central Reserve Police Force convoy was ambushed by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Militants on Saturday.  Latter Police also killed both of the attackers. The attack was condemned and appreciated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Jihad Council(UJC) head Syed Salah-u-Din.

The attack occurred on the occasion when founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and chief of jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Muhmmad Saeed leading an anti India and U.S. campaign through the plat farm of Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) across the Pakistan.

Soon after the attack Dr. Abdullah Gaznavi, a spokesman for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who often interacts with the media after such attacks told local Media that the slain Militants were belongs to LeT suicide squad. Lashkar-e-Taiba spokesman claimed 13 CRPF police officials were killed in the fighting that lasted for an hour. Paying rich tribute to LeT Militants Dr. Abdullah Gaznavi said it was a successful attack and such type of attacks will continue in future as well.

The incident happened right between the high profile events happing in Indian Capital New Delhi where political leadership of Kashmir including both factions of All Parties Hurriyat Confrence (APHC) were invited for Iftar Dinner hosted by Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit.

When media asked him to comment on the attack Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit said, “It’s the month of Ramzaan, let’s focus on this Iftaar party. The issue of Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed issue between India and Pakistan. It’s an issue which needs to be solved. We hope we will sit and discuss on the issue and find a solution.”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid rich tributes to CRPF personals through his Twitter account saying. “I salute the courage of the CRPF personnel martyred today in J&K. They served the nation with utmost dedication. My thoughts are with the families of those martyred today. May those injured recover soon”.

United Jihad Council (UJC) chairman Syed Salah-u-Din also paid tributes to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants. Hizbul Mujahdeen chief said those who scarify their present on the future of Nation are real heroes and we are proud of our people having deep attachments with the Mujahideen.

The preset attack happened when Lashkar-e-Taiba is in news from many days, a few days back Indian Army claimed that they have arrested a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander from Kupwara district of north Kashmir.


Abu Ukasha, a resident of Paksitan’s Bahawalpur district also known as Hanzullah, was capture by security forces during an operation in Sogam area of Kupwara when he was shopping form a local market.

Earlier on Friday an army spokesman Commander Rashtriya Rifles Brigadier Rajeev Puri briefed the media about the successful operations in Kupwara.

Talking about the two successful operations which left six militants dead in Kupwara district yesterday, the army officer said “all the six were affiliated to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit”.
