Islamabad: The political and religious leaders urged Ulema to come up with a uniform agenda of making Pakistan a welfare state by rectifying the image of Islam that had been stained by some conspirators. They were addressing an ‘Ulema Aman Convention’ organized by Majlis Sout Islam, Pakistan.
In their speeches, scholars, ulema’s and leaders of different political and religious parties vowed opposition to suicide bombings, extremism and terrorism, saying that they gathered here to spread Islam’s message of peace.
Many scholars and leaders criticized the Threek Taliban Pakistan saying, “Some misguided individuals are violating Islamic teachings”.
“Extremism, terrorism and suicide attacks are heinous acts and have nothing to do with Islam. Such acts violate what Islam stands for,” senior scholar Mufti Abu Huraira Mohiuddin Chairman Majlis Sout Islam told the gathering.
Over 500 Ulema, scholars, intellectuals from abroad and different parts of the country participated to the three days “Ulema Aman Convention”.
Ubdho Mohmmad Ateen,Rabita Alam Islami Islamabad, Sheikh Sami Ossama,Jordan, Doctor Abu Kamal Ahmad,Algeria, Raja Zafar Ul Haq,Pakistan Muslim League, Zamrud Khan, Pakistan People Party, Azam Swati, Pakistan Threek Insaf, Basher Baloor, Amami National Party, Sardar Yaqob Khan, President Azad Kashmir, Sahbzada Sajid Rehman, Islami University Islamabad, Qazi Hussain Ahmad,Former Amir Jamat Islami also addressed the convention.
