Mehsud Tribe demands early resolution of disputed land

Tank: Mehsud Tribal elders have demanded the Govt to resolve the matter of disputed land between Mehsud and Wazir tribes as per tribal traditions to avoid any bloody tension between the two.

This demand came fore in a Jirga held in Mehsud Compound. Tribal elder while addressing the Jirga said that Mehsud Tribe  left this area during the ‘Operation Rahe Najat’ in 2009 and Wazir tribe occupied  our area in Zargul and Karaam areas. We had been constantly informing the administration in written and through Jirgas since 2012. After the successful end of ‘Operation Rahe Najat’ when Mehsud tribe came to know about their occupied land and asking about it casted a life. After the intervention of Pak Army and tribal administration a Jirga was constituted on Mehsud and Wazir advisors to sort out the differences. But nothing positive has come out of this so for.

The Tribal elders in the Jirga reiterated that we are peace loving people and never wanted to harm any one. We have already paid heavy price during the Rahe Najat Operation and demanded the government to resolve the dispute as per tribal traditions to avoid any damage.

Malik Saif u Rehman said that this land belongs to our elders and we will not allow anybody to occupy it. Malik Rafique Khan, Malik Fazalur Rehman, Malik Ismail Khan, Malik Karamat Khan, Malik Ramaan, Malik Faqir Alam Shah, Maulana Asamuddin besides others addressed the Jirga.
