Islamabad: The “steel chip” that was found in the shoes of Indian convict terrorists-cum-spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s wife during her visit to the convict in Foreign Office Monday last is made of special steel and it was hidden in one foot of the pair.
Its laboratory analysis is underway and it appears that the chip is an Israel’s product since Israelis are known for developing such devices. Interestingly the chip was installed in one foot of the pair and it added to the suspicions of the security personnel at the Foreign Office where the meeting took place.
According to the sources,it has yet to be ascertained that the chip was being smuggled for spying purposes or it had to be used for some other ulterior motive. The lab’s finding about the chip would be made public once it is received, the sources added.
The sources reminded that the whole process for the meeting took place strictly in accordance with the prior understanding between the two capitals through diplomatic channels. Pakistan followed the understanding in letter and spirit while Indians have been acting in irresponsible manner by hurling baseless allegations and foul mouthing. The Indian administration is being acutely criticised for its action by the Indian intelligentsia and people across the country in this regard.
In the meanwhile Pakistan’s High Commissioner to New Delhi Sohail Mahmood is going to dash to Islamabad for consultations next week. He will have meetings here with Foreign Secretary Ms. Tehmina Janjua and other senior officials concerned during his stay in the capital.
The sources pointed out that Pakistan’s ambassadors at significant capitals are here in Islamabad for important consultations with their respective desks and senior officials of the Foreign Office.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative (PR) for the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi who is in Islamabad had meeting with Foreign Secretary Ms. Janjua as she earlier had an important meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Pakistan’s Ambassador for the United States Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Envoy in China Masood Khalid, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Vienna Ms. Ayesha Riyaz who represents Pakistan in International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have already arrived here.
The sources said that the presence of country’s ambassadors had helped in holding an informal mini Envoy’s Conference in the capital. The distinguished diplomats of the country will discuss with the high ups about the performance during the outgoing year and put their heads together to plan for the new year as they have already had meeting with the Foreign Secretary. The ambassadors will also have meeting with Prime Minister Abbasi before returning to their respective capitals, the sources said.
