Lahore: Chairman Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi announced the banning of five books and monthly journals of extremist and sectarian organizations for having hateful content.
Chairman Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi talking to media stated that board meeting of the representatives of Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab held here on Monday, where it was unanimously decided to ban five books including manifesto of banned Sipha-e-Sahaba Pakistan, monthly journal of Pir Afzal Qadri, ‘Awaz Ahl-e-Sunnah’, ‘Kashtiy-e-Noah’ and other five books collectively for having hateful content. Talking to media, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi underlined that Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab has been carrying out struggle to purge Pakistan from the menace of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence.
“Mutahida Ulema Board has devised a very effective mechanism to keep check against publications of hateful content, All the state institutions of the government of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies are on same page with a unanimous stance to eradicate the menace of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence from Pakistan”,

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also informed the media that central board meeting of Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab has decided to ban book of Pir Afzal Qadri ‘Monthly Awaz-e-Ahl-e-Sunnah’, ‘Kashtiy-e-Noah’of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadyani. The meeting also recommended to file case against publisher of this book under section 295/C. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also pointed out that Mutahida Ulema Board is also handling 279 other cases moved to Mutahida Ulema Board from other departments of the province.
30 cases were looked into in last meeting of Mutahida Ulema Board, out of which judgment on 10 cases has been made. He also added that Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab has also allowed publication of five books including monthly journal ‘Mohaddis’, Ali’s (R.A) Shia, Islamic Ideology in the light of Kithab-O-Sunnah, ‘Fazail-e-Jehad’ and Azkar-e-Nabi (S.A.W). Publication of all these books has been allowed and recommendations in this connection have been forwarded to Punjab Government.

Amidst prevailing challenges in the country, the representatives of Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab have announced to play effective role for national security and peaceful harmony in the country, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi added. He also stated that Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab will fulfill all the responsibilities tasked to it as per National Action Plan.
Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab has been carrying out effective struggle for interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence in the country. Mutahida Ulema Board is playing effective role to reform the educational syllabus for schools and seminaries in accordance of Islamic teachings and Two Nations Theory. Mutahida Ulema Board Punjab is in constant contact with Punjab Text Book Board for effective reforms in Syllabus.
