Islamabad: The National Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution reaffirming support for the just and legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. The resolution was adopted in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day to be observed on February 5.
The resolution moved by Minister for Kashmir Affairs Barjees Tahir strongly denounced the black laws enacted in the Valley. It said 800,000 Indian troops in the Kashmir have martyred 100,000 innocent Kashmiri people including freedom fighter Burhan Wani. It noted with concerns the detention of hundreds of Hurriyat leaders and workers and the registration of fake cases against them.
The resolution pointed out that women and youth are made victims of state terrorism in the occupied Kashmir while the use of pellet guns has also affected the eyesight of thousands of youth. The resolution also highlighted the discovery of 7,500 mass graves in the Held Kashmir.
