Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon Chief of the General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia General Fayiadh Bin Hamed Bin Ragad Al-Rowaily in a special Investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat and other senior officers were also present during the ceremony.
Chief of the General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces also called on President Dr. Arif Alvi. Speaking on the occasion, the President said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its unique and brotherly relations with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which are based on mutual trust and wishes to expand cooperation in all fields.
General Fayyadh Bin Hamid Al Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff, Armed Forces of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) was also conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) by President Dr Arif Alvi in special ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday.
He expressed satisfaction at close defense cooperation between the two countries which has further scope for growth particularly in the field of defence production. He also highlighted the ever accelerating trade and investment relations between the both countries. He underlined that Pakistani expatriates are making tremendous contribution to the progress and development of Saudi Arabia and they can play an important role in implementation of Vision 2030 projects.
Chief of the General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia General Fayiadh Bin Hamed Bin Ragad Al-Rowaily thanked the President and the Government of Pakistan for this honour and hoped that bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries would further grow in future.
General Fayyadh Bin Hamid Al Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff, Armed Forces of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) along with a delegation met General Zubair Mahmood Hayat today at JSHQ. Chairman and Chief of the General Staff, KSA co-chaired the 5th round of Pak-KSA JMCC Meeting. Regional security situation and bilateral military engagements & training cooperation came under discussion.
General Fayyadh Bin Hamid Al Ruwaili became Saudi Arabia’s chief of staff in February 2018 after the retirement of Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Bunayan. He was born in Turaif, a small town in the Northern Borders region, in 1958. He went to school there, completing high school in Arar, and then joined King Faisal Air Academy in Riyadh where he graduated as lieutenant pilot.
He received a scholarship and traveled to the US to complete his flight training at Lakeland in Florida. He did a master’s in military science from Air Command and Staff College, and earned a second master’s degree in strategic studies from the US Air University in Alabama. He returned to the Kingdom, and worked on several air military bases until he became a squadron commander and then a wing commander. He was an assistant at the air base in Taif, before he became commander of King Fahd Air Base in the western sector of Taif.
In 2012, Al-Ruwaili was appointed as commander of the Air Force, before King Salman issued the royal decree that promoted him to the rank of General Officer and made him the Kingdom’s chief of staff.
