Islamabad: Two Pakistani diplomatic officials, Jan Khan and Mohammad Aijaz, members of staff of the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jalalabad, have arrived at Benazir International Islamabad via flight PK 205 on Thursday, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to the Afghan authorities, the diplomats had been recovered by Afghan security forces a day earlier, who had gone missing while traveling from Jalalabad to Torkham on June 16.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday personally phoned Pakistan’s charge d’affaires in Kabul to inform the mission that Afghan Security Forces have recovered the diplomats and the two officials were handed over to the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both the diplomats were warmly welcomed by the foreign ministry officials on their arrival in Islamabad on Thursday.
