Pakistan’s Kashmir Committee chairman says Kashmiris are the main stakeholders of dispute

Islamabad: Chairman Parliamentary Special Committee on Kashmir Syed Fakhar Imam said that the Kashmiris are the main stakeholders of dispute and we will not leave Kashmiris alone, he assured that Pakistan will not compromise on Kashmir as Pakistan’s Kashmir policy is based on United Nations (UN) resolutions. He said that the Kashmir is and will remain the jugular vein of Pakistan, sooner or later we will succeed to win right to self-determination as our case is legitimate and according to the international laws, chairman Kashmir Committee added.  He said Kashmir disputed was created by United Kingdom and they should come forward to settle it for the largest peace and security interest of South Asia.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar “Post Pulwama Kashmir Imbroglio, Modi’s Second Term, Role and Responsibility of International Community”. The seminar was jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) , Jammu and  Kashmir Voice of Victims (JKVoV) and Tehreek-e-Kashmir ( TeK) United Kingdom  (UK) and Institute of Peace And Diplomatic Studies (IPD).

The seminar was addressed by Altaf Ahmad Bhat, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), President Tehrik Kashmir (TeK) UK Raja Fahim Kayani, Chairman Parliamentary Special Committee on Kashmir Syed Fakhar Imam and Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Malik Muhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, a large number of diplomats, human rights activists, social media activists and representatives of civil society attended the seminar.

Altaf Ahmad Bhat Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) said India is using National Investigation Agency (NIA) as a tool to curb the present movement on the name of so-called terror funding, he said Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and striving for its resolution is neither a crime nor an illegal act. He questioned why India has deployed the more than 8 lakh Indian forces in the area of 190 kilometers long of Kashmir Valley.

Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) said that the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Publich safety Act (PSA) are draconian laws, as India is using these black laws against the the popular leadership of Kashmir including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq , Yasin Malik and Zaffar Akbar Bhat. Altaf Ahmad Bhat. He said that Kashmiris will keep striving for its sacred goal, in a peaceful democratic manner and will leave no stone unturned to achieve its  goal right to self determination according to the United Nation resolutions.

President Tehrik Kashmir (TeK) UK Raja Fahim Kayani suggested that government of Pakistan, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC_, Foreign Office and government of Azad Kashmir should form a joint strategy to highlight Kashmir cause in UK and other western countries. He said overseas Kashmiris are working as per their available time for the promotion of Kashmir cause saying despite the weekend Kashmiris settled in UK came on streets of London and protested against the Modi’s visit to England.

Raja Fahim Kayani urged the international community, United Nations (UN) European Union (EU), and other global human rights organisations to use their offices to persuade India to stop killing the innocent  political workers in occupied Kashmir. he also condemned the unrelenting incidents of harassment of political leaders and activists in Kashmir  and termed it a serious infringement of United Nations (UN) conventions and international protocols on peaceful political activities and struggle.

Faheem Kayani said that Tehrik Kashmir (TeK) UK and Kashmiri diaspora are very active and symbol of Kashmir struggle in UK and Europe, all that needed is a joint and comprehensive strategy to expose Indian state terrorism at international level.  We have to approach the overseas Kashmiris for the promotion of Kashmir cause. 

He said it is time to raise the human rights violations committed by occupational troops in Indian Occupied Kashmir at global level. “We need a politically stable and economically strong Pakistan for the Kashmir cause and we are doing our best to put Pakistan on the track of economic stability that may take time but our youth will make this country great for the whole world,” Imam added. He said Pakistan’s Air Force downed two jets of India that was the strong message for the rest of the India following the Balakot drama.

Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Malik Muhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana said that present government is committed with Kashmir cause and we are performing very well as compared to the past governments. He said Pulwama attack was planned for political purposes however, Pakistan handled this incident very smartly to expose India her designs behind it. He said earlier Pakistan handed over captured Indian Air Force pilot on humanitarian basis and received global appreciation on this peace gesture. He said despite the seven lakh Indian forces presence in IOK has not broken the will of Kashmiris for the freedom and we appreciate Kashmiris genuine political struggle.

He said world is now listening Kashmiris how India is killing them and this human right aspect must be highlighted at global level saying the people and the government of Pakistan stand committed with the Kashmiris in their right of self-determination movement.
