Princess Reema discusses aid for Yemen with UN official

NEW YORK — Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud and the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah Al Muallami on Tuesday met the UN Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The discussions in the meeting included close and fruitful cooperation between the Kingdom and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in various humanitarian and relief fields, and the Kingdom’s international humanitarian efforts, especially in Yemen, and ways of enhancing these efforts.

The meeting also dealt with the mechanism of benefiting from the financial support provided by the Kingdom to support the OCHA relief programs in Yemen worth half a billion dollars, and the extent of its contribution to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
