Islamabad: Raja Najabat Hussain, chairman Jammu Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) while paying rich tribute to the martyrs of 13th July, said the sacrifice of the martyrs will remain as a golden chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the people of Kashmir especially youth to follow the path shown by the martyrs to safeguard their identity and motherland.
In a statements he said, “On this day we need to reiterate our indomitable will to continue our struggle of right to self-determination according to the United Nations resolutions.”
Raja Najabat Hussain said India should read writing on the wall that the oppressors would have to vacate occupation and concede the right to self-determination of the people of the Kashmir.
July is the month when many sons of Kashmir lost their lives and hence Kashmir Martyrs’ Day is observed on 13 July every year. Kashmiris world over pay tribute to the martyrs, and renew their commitment to keep raising voice in support of their right to self-determination as enshrined in the UNSC resolutions on Kashmir dispute, Raja Najabat added.
JKSDMI chairman said time has proved that the people’s yearning and thirst for dignity and honor cannot be suppressed by might. The day is not far when Kashmiris will get their right to self-determination according to the UN resolutions.
On July 13 in 1931, the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside the Central Jail in Srinagar during the court proceedings against one Abdul Qadeer who had asked the Kashmiri people to defy the Dogra rule.
