Saudi assistant defense minister meets with Chief of Army Staff

Islamabad: Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Defense Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ayesh met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday to discuss matters of mutual interest.

“During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest including defense and security cooperation between both countries and overall regional security situation,” the military’s media wing, ISPR, said in a statement.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy strong defense ties, with the armed forces of both countries conducting joint exercises on a regular basis.

Last month, Lt. Gen. Fahad Bin Abdullah Mohammad Al-Motair, Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, visited the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, to interact with Saudi cadets undergoing their training program.
