Shahid Khaqan Abbasi sworn in as as 18th Prime Minister

Islamabad: Newly elected Leader of the House in National Assembly Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has taken oath as 18th Prime Minister of Pakistan at the President House Islamabad on Tuesday.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to Abbasi, after he swept the election with a two-third majority vote.
Earlier, he was elected Leader of the House in the National Assembly with a thumping majority securing 221 votes

Politicians, parliamentarians, services chiefs, and diplomats attended the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Prime Minister.

Among others, who attended the ceremony include Governors of the four provinces, Chief Ministers of Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
