The Labour Movement stands with the oppressed people of Kashmir: Labour Deputy Leader

The Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Tom Watson MP, outlined the Labour Movements full support for the people of Kashmir and demanded that the British Foreign Secretary intervenes immediately to ensure that the communication black out is lifted and food, water and healthcare services are resumed in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Addressing a gathering of thousands of Kashmiris and hundreds of non-Kashmiris, Liam Byrne MP, Shabana Mahmood MP, Jack Dromey MP, Phil Bennion MEP, Fahim Kayani President Tehreek-E-Kashmir UK, Ranjit Singh Serai World Sikh Parliament and Senior Councillors Ian Ward, Waseem Zaffar, Robert Alden , Sharon Thompson & Muhammad Yaseen all demanded the urgent intervention of the international community whilst expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Fahim Kayani President T-e-K UK said that the silence of World powers over the killing of innocent Kashmiris is a crime against humanity. The people of Kashmir look towards the mother of all democracies, the United Kingdom, for the implementation of United Nations resolutions on Kashmir granting the right to self-determination.

Raja Amjad Khan Sec APKCC & Qamar Abbas President Tehreek-E-Kashmir UK Birmingham Branch organised the largest gathering in support of Kashmir in Birmingham which marched from the city centre to the Indian Consulate offices. The march led by women and children attracted hundreds of non Kashmiris who marched in solidarity and expressed disgust towards the Indian Government’s actions which have led to a humanitarian crisis.
