Tunisia will Establish Its County’s Cultural Corner at National Book Foundation: Mr. Adel Elarbi

Islamabad: Ambassador of Tunisia to Pakistan Mr. Adel Elarbi along with Muhmmad Asif Noor chief Editor “The Diplomatic Insight” and Ms Farhat Asif chairman Institute of Peace and Diplomacy- IPD visited National Book Foundation on Thursday. The ambassador was warmly received by the Managing Director of National Book Foundation Dr. Inam ul Haq Javed and Mr. Azeem Iqbal.

Dr. Inam ul Haq Javed on the occasion briefed the visiting dignity about the special corner which has been established to introduce the literature, culture and history of different Islamic countries having name as “Koocha e Kitab” “Book Street”. Dr. Inam ul Haq Javeid told that National Book Foundation donates books on various topics to the Islamic countries to strengthen the cultural and brotherly relations.

On the occasion Tunisian Ambassador Mr. Adel Elarbi visited the main bookshop of NBF, National Book Museum, Book Park and My Book Shelf and expressed his sentiments in the visitor book. The ambassador was shown the publications of Tunisian Legend Ibne khaldun which are placed at National Book Foundation. Mr. Adel Elarbi appreciated National Book Foundation efforts to promote book culture through its innovative schemes. Tunisian ambassador said he will try to establish his country’s corner at National Book Foundation.

National Book Foundation (NBF) plans to immediately prepare a road map for the guidance of book lovers to reach the location of “Shehr-e-Kitab” and to display it at appropriate corners of the city.

The “Shehr-e-Kitab” Islamabad consists of 28 outlets (shops) including National Book Foundation, Mr. Books, Jahangir Books, Kitab Ghar, Idara-e-Ilm-o-Irfan, Al-Faisal Publishers, Book Finders, Old Book Corner, BookMan, Readers Point, Rabia Book House, Ilmi Book Depot, Book Valley and others.

National book Foundation was established in 1972 as a service rendering educational welfare organization. It is a statutory Corporation created through an Act of the Parliament in order to make books available at moderate prices. It has its Head Office in Islamabad and Regional Offices at each provincial Headquarters. In addition it has Branch Offices and bookshops.
