United Jihad Council (UJC) Offers Funeral Prayers in Absentia for Burhan Wani

Islamabad: United Jihad Council (UJC) an Alliance of 14 kashmiri Militants organizations fighting against Indian rule in Indian controlled Kashmir offered the funeral prayers in absentia for Hizbul Mujhadeen commander Burhan Wani and two of his associates here in Islamabad on Saturday. Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhmmad Saeed, UJC commanders, APHC Azad Kashmir Chapter leaders Gulam Muhmmad Safi, Mahmood Ahmad Sagir and kashmiri community were among the participants.

Burhan Muzaffar Wani 22 along with two of his companions killed in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday and was laid to rest in his native place Tral, where thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of Hizb Commander on Saturday.


An extraordinary meeting of United Jihad Council (UJC) was summoned by its secretary General Sheikh Jamil Ur Rehman in Islamabad which was attended by all the components of UJC. Addressing on the occasion Hizbul Mujhadeem chief Syed Salah-ud-din paid rich tribute to late burhan Wani saying “Burhan not only gave sleepless nights to eight lakh force personnel’s but also gave a new charter of life to Kashmir freedom struggle.”


In its joint statement United Jihad Council (UJC) termed the killing of Hizbul Mujhadeem commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his associates as painful and hoped that there won’t be any negative impact on the ongoing Kashmir struggle due to the death of Burhan Wani.

In Pakistan controlled Kashmir capital Muzaffarabad, Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir (PHJK) an organization of Kashmiri Migrants organized a protest rally on Saturday on the call of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) chairman Syed Ali Gellani to pay tribute to late commander of Hizbul Mujhadeen Burhan Wani and two of his associates.

Scores of protesters form Kashmiri Migrants, Hizbul Mujahdeen and Lashkar-e-Taiba reiterated its commitment to continue the freedom struggle until the Kashmir issue to be resolved according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.



Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief, Senator Sirajul Haq, also lead the funeral prayers in absentia for Burhan Muzaffar Wani at Mansoora the head Quarter of Jamat Islami in Lahore. Addressing the participants of prayers Senator Sirajul Haq said that the Modi government had given a license to the occupation forces in Held Kashmir to kill Kashmiri youth for the use of social media in support of their right to self determination. He said that Commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani had been martyred in a fake encounter after which the occupation forces had opened firing at his funeral procession killing eight others.

The JI chief said that the continuation of the Kashmiris’ freedom movement despite the presence of eight lakh Indian troops in Held Kashmir was an indication that the freedom movement could not be crushed through genocide.

United Jihad Council (UJC) is an alliance of Kashmiri and Pakistani militants groups formed in 1994, fighting against Indian rule in Indian controlled Kashmir. Hizb-ul-Mujahideen supreme Commander Syed Salahuddin is head of UJC and Sheikh Jamil-u-Rehman of Tehrik-ul-Mujahideen is its secretary General while other components are Jamiat-ul-Mujahdeen, Al-Umar Mujahdeen, Kashmir Libration Moment (KLM), Al-Jihad, Al-Barq Mujahdeen, Islamic Front, Tehrik-e-Jihad, Al-Fatheh Force, Hezbollah, Hizbul Momineen, Muslim Janbaz Force (MJF), Hizb Islami, Harkat Jihad Islami, including Pakistani based militants groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Muhmmad(JeM), Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and Al-Badr Mujahdeen. It is reminded that some of these organizations are recognized as terrorist organizations by the United States and the United Nations.
