Islamabad: Raja Fahim Kayani, President Tehreek-e-Kashmir TeK United Kingdom (UK) urged the United Nations (UN) European Union (EU), Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International to press India to stop human rights violations in Kashmir and release the political leadership of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC). He said peace cannot be achieved in south Asia until and unless Kashmir issue is resolved. He demanded to stop arresting the political workers and their sympathizers in Kashmir where so far more than ninety thousand peaceful Kashmirs have lost their lives since 1990s just for demanding the right of self-determination under the United Nations resolutions.
President Tehreek-e-Kashmir TeK expressed these views while addressing a conference “Kashmir Freedom Struggle and Challenges“ jointly hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) and Tehreek-e-Kashmir TeK United Kingdom (UK) at Kashmir House Islamabad. Sardar Masood Khan, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Syed Faiz naqasbandi, Mahmood Sagar, Gulam Muhammad Safi, Altaf Hussain wani also spoke on the occasion.
Altaf Ahmad Bhat, chairman Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) said that harassment of the families of political workers and other social and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at the hands of Indian forces in a bid to pressure them to stop demanding the implementation of UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir dispute is unfortunate.
Sardar Masood Khan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President hailed the efforts of President TeK UK Faheem Kayani saying who is now the symbol of Kashmir struggle in UK and Europe .The TeK team is well organised in UK and Europe. “We have to approach the overseas Kashmiris for the promotion of Kashmir cause and expose Indian state terrorism. The third generation of Pakistanis and Kashmiris settled in UK and Europe must be approached for highlighting the Kashmir cause at international level” AJK President Khan added.
The participants of the conference also urged India and Pakistan to resume dialogue to settle the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the UN resolutions and the aspirations of Kashmiri people to bring permanent peace in South Asia. The participants of the conference appeal to the UN, European Union (EU), and other global human rights organizations to use their good offices to persuade India to stop arresting the political workers and their sympathizers in IOK where so far more than ninety thousand peaceful Kashmiris have lost their lives since 1990s just for demanding the right of self-determination under the UN resolutions.
This Conference also condemns harassment of the families of political workers and other social and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at the hands of Indian forces in a bid to pressure them to stop demanding the implementation of UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir dispute. This Conference also deplores withholding of travel documents of political leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yaseen Malik and Zafar Akbar Bhat and allows them to travel abroad from IOK to discuss the ways for the permanent settlement of Kashmir dispute. Through this conference we also demand to release all political leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Asiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Dr Qasim Fakhtu, Mussarat Alam and others.
This Conference also demands an end to the censorship imposed on media by the Indian government and frequent shut downs of internet services to stop people from taking to social media to voice their feelings. This Conference also expresses its heartfelt condolences with the family members of all those Kashmiri political leaders and activists who fall victim to the savagery of Indian troops over the past three decades while carrying out their political activities in IOK.
The participants of the conference also demanded to lift the ban on Jammu and Kashmir Jamaat-e-Islami (JKJI) , Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and immediately release Ameer JKJI Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz , Chairman JKLF Yaseen Malik and others. The sacrifices of the valiant Kashmiris will never go into vain who are working under tremendous pressures just for the Kashmir cause.
This Conference also denounces the rising continuous ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) by the Indian army to target the civilians and unarmed people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and appeals the world community to put pressure on New Delhi to stop the target killing of civilians.
