Islamabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) held a seminar titled “Resolution of Kashmir issue – Prelude to peace, guarantee to stability” in Srinagar at Rajbagh Headquarters to commerorate the Martyrdom anniversary of prominent Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal.
Professor Abdul Ghani Butt while presiding over the seminar termed the house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq as illegal and condemned the authorities for preventing him from attending the seminar. He said that the Hurriyet forum would support every effort aimed at strengthening the ongoing freedom movement and to devise means and ways to take it to its logical conclusion in a more effective manner. While paying glowing homage to Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, martyrs of Hawal and other Kashmiri martyrs has said that they had laid down their lives for a sacred cause adding that India had failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom movement in the past and would never succeed in its nefarious designs in future as well.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in his address deplored that India was following rigid policies in Kashmir and said that there could be no dialogue with the people who followed fascist ideology. He said that the unity of joint resistance leadership had unnerved New Delhi and efforts are under way to break this unity. “It is time to hail and appreciate the contribution of every single Kashmir who is affiliated with the movement. There can be no dialogue with the fascist’s regimes as they know how to kill and muzzle the genuine dissent,” he said.
He reiterated the call of joint resistance leaders for Eidgah march on May 21 and urged people to observe complete shutdown on the day. He condemned the authorities’ decision of barring Mirwaiz from attending the seminar.

At the end of program, APHC spokesman strongly denounced the house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Media Advisor to Mirwaiz, Advocate Shahid Islam, and urged people to make the Eidgah Chalo program on May 21st successful and to observe a complete shutdown.
The seminar was also attended by Hurriyet leaders Musaddiq Aadil, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Khalil Muhammad Khalil, Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi, Abdur Rasheed Unto, Jaffer Kashmiri and Miss Fatima besides a large number of people belonging to different walks of life.
