WHO has acknowledged China’s efforts for controlling the Corona virus: Mr. Yao Jing

Islamabad: Mr. Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, has said Chinese government is taking every possible measure to control the outbreak of the corona virus, imposed public health emergency and canceled all the ceremonies. He said Chinese government is informing the world about its efforts to cope with this challenge and World Health Organization has acknowledged China’s efforts for controlling the virus. He said after the spread of Corona virus in China, the Chinese government is caring Pakistanis in China more than its nationals and providing them best medical and other facilities.

The Ambassador said that Pakistani government, foreign office and its embassy in Beijing are in constant touch with us to address the difficulties faced by Pakistani community.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan was Addressing a joint news conference along with Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza here in Islamabad on Monday. He appreciated the support and solidarity expressed by Pakistani leadership and people with China at the hour of need. Yao Jing said the Chinese government has taken a series of measures including restriction on the movement of the people to contain the virus. He said the Chinese government has the determination to overcome this plague.

The ambassador assured no one will be allowed to leave China without completion of 14-day incubation period. Today, 12 Chinese arrived in Pakistan including four businessmen and they were permitted to arrive in Pakistan after strict monitoring, he added. He thanked Pakistani government for extending support to China in the difficult time and acknowledged the letter written to Chinese President by Prime Minister Imran Khan for offering support.

Dr. Zafar Mirza, Special Assistant on National Health Services on the occasion said Pakistan has got the ability to diagnose the coronavirus as Pakistan has received the testing kits from different countries to diagnose the Corona virus and made all the arrangements at airports to ensure proper screening of the passengers entering Pakistan from China. He said we had kept seven Pakistani and Chinese nationals under observation and we have checked their samples by using these kits which have proved that they are not affected by the virus.

Dr. Zafar Mirza said the flight operation between Pakistan and China resumed today. He said we have made elaborate arrangements at the airports to ensure proper screening of the passengers coming from China. The Special Assistant said necessary barriers have been created to keep Pakistan safe from this virus.

About the four Pakistanis affected by the virus in China, the Special Assistant said that they are gradually recovering. So far, he revealed, around 371 patients have been died in China due to Corona Virus while 500 patients have been recovered too.
